On July 28, KeHE Distributors (Naperville, IL) announced the grand opening of its new distribution center at 3800 Deerpark Blvd in Elkton, FL.
Elkton city officials joined KeHE executives and employees for a ribbon cutting ceremony on July 23. The event also featured tours of the new facility, networking opportunities and entertainment.
According to the company, the new facility is close to the original location but provides a 61 percent increase in space. It features more than 29,000 square feet of office space and six temp zones including 390,000 square feet of dry warehouse, 105,000 square feet of cooler and freezer space, and dedicated ice cream and bulk rooms.
“This warehouse has been designed with flexibility and scale in mind. Whether it’s meeting seasonal surges, onboarding new products, or adapting to shifting customer demands, infrastructure and processes were built to support success, all of which translates directly into better service levels and reliability for our retail and supplier partners,” said Chuck Graefen, vice president of operations and supply chain management at KeHE.
